ThirumaranDeepavali (Divali), the Festival of Lights of South India, is an important Hindu celebration - lighting the dark corners of your life and filling it with happiness.

Thirumaran, with a great deal of help from many supporters and especially from his 93-96 Polytechnic students, masterminded an amazing three days of celebrations.

There are always new clothes provided for all the children (and so they all look especially beautifully dressed in the pictures!) as well as for staff members.

There were three special feasts provided by supporters - the biriyani coming from as far away as Madurai. There were cakes and special sweets, including a candy floss (spin sugar) machine!

A puppet show and some fireworks were greatly enjoyed by everyone.  For the third year the “Anandha Raagam” orchestra team visited and this year All India Radio came and made a special recording for an hour long programme.
