A great deal has happened in the last few months!

Here's a list from Thirumaran about some of the recent happenings:

  • TRUST Boys and Girls went for a holiday excursion to Quilon beach and boating in Kerala on 5-5-2019. All the family (Shanthi, Tamil Aruvi, Aaekalaivan and Nannan) went with them.
  • Two of our GAP year volunteers moved on to Sri Lanka and had an escape - leaving there just before the bombings.
  • A previous TRUST girl got married.
  • A TRUST boy who has just passed his +2 exams has started one month training in Vellore before entering Caterpillar in Chennai.
  • I have had several useful meetings with senior figures:
    • the present Tamilnadu Director General of Police (DGP) Mr.Rajendran I.P.S in Chennai.
    • the former DGP Mr.W.I.Davaram I.P.S.
    • a good meeting with the District Collector of Tirunelveli Mrs.Shilfa I.A.S along with Nannan.
  • We have started a “Tailoring Centre” for our boys, girls and public from May1, 2019 and two tailoring teachers (1 male and 1 female) have been appointed.
  • All pass in +2 exams.
  • All pass in +1 exams.
  • All girls passed in 10th standard exams.
  • Two boys and two girls who have just passed +2 exams are waiting to join in college.
  • A previous TRUST girl is in her final year at Polytechnic College.
  • “World For 18+” construction is progressing.
  • There have been fantastic British volunteers and good Italian volunteers this year (2018-2919).
  • I am happy to inform everyone that we have organized a lot of “Blood Donation Camps” this year.
  • I have made a “Historic and Patriotic” travel to the Punjab and Wagah Border with Gandhians.
  • An orphan girl from TRUST had been taken by her aunt to a factory as a child labourer and we rescued her in 10 days. Now she is back with us.
  • Thanks to Mr. Angus. He is great to support us.
  • Thanks to TRUST Support Group and STAR Health Insurance Company for presenting TRUST Children (Girls) a beautiful “Dining Hall”. Our children inaugurated the Hall.
  • May is the season for Mango and Jack Fruit. Our “Lady Jack Tree” delivered 20 Jack Fruits this year. I took our boys to TRUST Children Home garden to see the fruits.
  • After a long time a male volunteer is coming from USA for a medical placement - a 2 in 1 project.
  • Mrs.Seelibai (now 85 years old) has come back to service at the Children's Home after her husband’s recent demise.
  • We plan to care for more cattle. A good cow shed had been arranged at TRUST BOYS’ Home.
