A new service for the children of migrant labour
Not far from TRUST there are a lot of BRICK KILNS which are operated by migrant labour all the way from North India.
They bring their families, live in basic sheds and the children work, as 'child labour', as well as the adults.
The children are poorly fed and are unable to access education.
TRUST-INDIA school has started a new service to support them.
They are collected from the kilns, spend their days at TRUST-INDIA school where they receive education and, importantly, lunch.
Most of the children speak Bengali, not Tamil (the local language) or even Hindi.
The project started with 60 children, then extended to 80, now it has almost 90.

Volunteers from the UK are invited by Thirumaran to become part of this project. Restrictions still prevent visitors in the Children's Homes but would not stop volunteering for this project.
